A time for celebration

4 August 2018 A Time For Celebration ………………………

Did you know that 4 August is the date traditionally ascribed to Dom Pérignon's invention of Champagne or that the first clash in rugby union between Australia and New Zealand took place in a test match in August 1903 or that in August 1895, 20 clubs from Yorkshire, Lancashire and Cheshire decided to resign from the RFU and form the Northern Rugby Football Union, which from 1922 was known as the Rugby Football League

The black and amber have decided to put another August date in the history books by returning to the days of old with the Orrell RUFC Presentation Night.

This will be an evening to remember (not just for the celebration of the birthday of champagne) but a 3-course meal, celebration of our great club and players and entertainment in the newly refurbished surroundings of Holland Hall.

More details will follow in due course so for now, just hold the date – 4 August 2018!

Don’t miss out, the future is black and amber
