So, let's recreate some of that old club atmosphere - come and spend the day with us for a whole day of rugby and lots more

There’s a lot happening next Saturday (24th February)!

Well yes, Ireland play Wales and Scotland play England, but we meant there’s a lot happening down at Orrell RUFC as well.

Our 1XV are at home to Marple RUFC and our 2XV are at home as well to Blackburn.

To mark the occasion when both teams are at home, we thought we’d combine our after-match refreshments and invite everyone to join us at Winstanley Tennis Club – maybe even catch some of the 6 Nations Rugby as well? Just like the old days.

All our players from the mini and juniors (and their mums and dads), up to our Senior Teams (and their families) are invited to come and watch the Orrell RUFC games and then join us at Winstanley Tennis Club for refreshments and drinks and to watch the 6 Nations Games (Ireland vs Wales and Scotland vs England). What a better way to spend the day!

The Tennis Club will be open from 2.00pm for a pre-match drink or stay and watch the Ireland v Wales game; post-match refreshments (for both games) will be available as well as the Scotland vs England game. The bar will be open!

Our U14s/U15s Lions will also be bag packing at Asda on 24th February as part of their tour fundraising. Pop down and say hello and maybe give them some support. We’ll be inviting all the lads & girls and their mums and dads back to the Tennis Club – post packing of course – to join us and to say well done!

If that wasn’t enough, the EGM, which should have taken place today - but due to a change of venue for the 1XV match, will now be held on 24th February at the Tennis Club. Members will have the opportunity to review last year’s audited financial accounts and to vote on their acceptance. Copies of the accounts will be available at the meeting.

Phew, so why not make a day of it, bring the family, enjoy the rugby and let’s start to recreate the old Orrell RUFC club atmosphere and community spirit (in other words get some practice in before we build our own clubhouse).

We look forward to seeing you there; sharing the memories and making new ones.
Thank you for your continued support
The future’s black and amber
