]What a great start to our season Saturday was …. New league structure with the 1XV playing in the South Lancashire/Cheshire League 2 (meeting some old opponents and some new ones); we have some new coaches and players to complement our existing teams and we have a new kit to play in. We also introduced
• Jack Granby has joined us from Preston Grasshoppers and is a Lancashire RFU County and England North Counties U20s player.
• Jack Johnston has also joined us from Ormskirk. Jack has represented Lancashire RFU County as a U20s player.

who joined James Ratcliffe, Justin Watt and Wilbur Harris and the rest of the 1XV squad in promoting the new kit in the pre-season friendly on Saturday vs Wigan, when 2 great teams met to play some rugby.

It was a great afternoon of rugby and, sadly after leading for 60 minutes, Wigan sustained injuries, and Orrell finished strongly to win 35-26.

This was rugby union at its finest and a huge thank you to everyone who organised the game and our supporters for a great day of rugby.
