Congratulations to Orrell RUFC, Lancashire RFU & North of England Des Seabrook who picked up a lifetime achievement award at the recent Rugby Union Writers Awards. Des is pictured here with Ian McGeechan, Ian Robertson and England Coach Eddie Jones.

Des has been one of the greatest driving forces on the playing side of the club. As a player and club captain, Des Seabrook took the club into senior status through the resurrected Lancashire Cup and into the National Cup where his side inflicted famous defeats on the likes of Northampton and Harlequins. His leadership on the field was legendary and later as club coach and Director of Rugby it was Des who worked with the side that remained an ever present in Division One until more recent times. He coached England, The North, The North West Counties and Lancashire.
