With Wigan leading the crusade for the Lancashire League and Orrell opting to stay within the RFU framework (see new League Structure article); most supporters thought we had seen the last of the epic matches between these two great clubs for at least a couple of seasons.

But that fear has been swept aside as both clubs have agreed to go head to head in a pre-season tune up on Saturday, 11th August at St John Rigby College. . Kick off is 2.30pm

Both sides will want to be in the best possible shape for the upcoming season and preseason friendlies that test teams aren’t easy to come by and this will be a real test for both clubs.
