Our success & fame are spreading as the Touch team recruited a few marquee players for training last Friday

Last Friday, the Club welcomed Rory Brand, current London Irish and England U20’s player to training and after turning more than a couple of players inside out, the coaches convinced him to join the side travelling to Caldy 7’s.

After the success on the Saturday he thought - as we always encourage players to bring some friends along next time - he would! Well we didn’t expect him to bring the calibre of friends he did!

Among the regular players were an Exile, a Wallaby and a Shark (or 3 if you include our very own Academy prospects Niall and Tom C).

Rory brought along James O’Connor and Ben Curry, who between them have 44 Australian caps and a Barbarians call up looming ...... it was a session you just should't have missed.

The session started as any other, developing skills and workings on points from the competitions, before going into games. After showing us what he could do the previous Friday and Saturday we knew Rory was a handful and thought it best to keep the lads in different teams. As always subs in the middle are subbing for all 4 teams so it didn't take too long for the boys to team up against each other and each of them showed why they are the amazing players they are!

It was a great night and really good to rub shoulders with professional players and really good to see the lads fully mixing in with the group as though they were regulars. The Club is extremely grateful for their support and both the club and the team would welcome the guys back at any time. Of course we told them to bring even more friends along! Who knows may have even more famous faces this Friday!

Anyone (professional or not) is welcome to come down to Touch Training on a Friday at St John Rigby. 6.00pm start. Who knows you may meet ; what fun you may have; a little bit of exercise and a lot of laughter & friendship!
