It’s here – it’s finally Saturday and the Orrell RUFC Mini and Junior Section Rugby Fun Day. It’s also Waisale Serevi, Fijian rugby union and rugby sevens footballer birthday. It’s also the World Rugby Sevens Series at Twickenham. Watch Serevi’s old team Fiji in action and see if they can repeat their Olympic gold at the Rugby Sevens. According to World Rugby, Fiji winning the Olympic Gold converted almost 17 million new fans to rugby.

Can we do the same today with our Rugby Fun Day at Winstanley College? Well maybe not 17 million (we can’t get that many on the pitch) but certainly as many boys and girls who want to come down and try this great game of ours.

It will be great fun with mini assault courses, mini games, competitions and even learning some basic rugby skills. You don’t need any special skills or abilities – just come along and have a go. Who knows you may be an Olympic Gold Rugby Player in the making ……..
