Sunday quickly became a mini festival of rugby for teams from across the North West - with six clubs and nine teams taking part.

Sunday saw ORMJS host our first "Pitch up and Play" session for the three local sides with newly emerging girls sections .... to enjoy a few games of rugby ..... at least that’s how it was supposed to be.

Sunday quickly became a mini festival of rugby for teams from across the North West - with six clubs and nine teams taking part in both the U13s and U15s (the two age groups for girl’s rugby).

The U13s had teams from ORMJS, Leigh, Tyldesley, Winnington Park, Rochdale and Vale of Lune from Lancaster. The U15s saw ORMJS Girls vs Rochdale.

Each game was highly competitive, yet full of enjoyment for those involved. With all the participants relatively new to the game, it was great to see the smiling faces at the end.

The U15s game had spells of free flowing rugby with the lead changing hands on numerous occasions and each try coming from something different. The U13s all played one game vs each of the teams - so game time was a plenty.

The girls section is our newest section in the club but also one of our fastest growing - but we are always looking for new players to come along and "give it a try".

Training is held on Sundays 10:30 -11:30 at Upholland High School for girls in y7/8/9/10's.
