Despite the weather, a great day of rugby was had by all ......

Despite the weather, great touch was played across the board by all teams and everyone had a great day – unfazed by the few changes in format due to the weather conditions.

Huge congratulations go to Widnes O2 on winning the Tournament vs OSJ after coming through a Drop Off vs Crewe in the semi-final.

Nottingham battled all day and emerged victorious vs Anvils Development Squad in a great Plate Final.

ORUFC would like to thank all the teams who travel up to Billinge on Saturday for the first (of what will be many) Touch Rugby Competitions; Crewe and Nantwich; Widnes O2, Nottingham and our friends from OSJ your support and great games of rugby were very much appreciated.

Massive thanks also goes to everyone that helped organise the event and kept everything going smoothly on the day.

Success is not always measured by wins and trophies and that was clear with the Anvils Development side that turned out on Saturday. Each player stepped up to the mark and shone. The team may have lost each game but they did manage to score 5 tries - 2 from completely new players to the game. Every member of the team should be immensely proud of themselves.

ORUFC Anvils team did really well and were through to the Cup semi-final losing to OSJ. The qualities of the side showed through with Sam H winning tournament MVP.

ORUFC are hoping to make this an annual event - hopefully the weather will be better next year!
