Our Mini and Junior Section had a fantastic evening with Josh Charnley and Mike Forshaw from Sale Sharks last week. The event, arranged via Club Sponsor, Colin Ratcliffe of Brookhouse Contracting was attended by not just our mini and junior players but parents and supporters too!

This is what Sale Sharks had to say about the evening:

Orrell RUFC is emerging like a phoenix from the flames, with passion, excitement, and determination. Under the guidance of their President (and former player and head coach) Bill Lyon, their player numbers continue to grow and this season has seen the start of their Girls' teams at U13 and U15. Over the last couple of seasons, many of the young players have attended the Sale Sharks home games, and for many it was the first time they had been to a sporting stadium to watch rugby union played.

Orrell RUFC presented Sale Sharks with a framed shirt as part of the 100 Club partnership that Sale Sharks have with clubs around the North West before the question and answer session.

"It was very special to have two of Wigan rugby's finest former players attend our junior training session, especially seeing the youngsters faces light up when Josh and Mike appeared on the pitch. Orrell Rugby Union club is a club which holds some wonderful memories for the people of our borough and hopefully with the new ground getting full planning approval we can make our new home a place for all ages to enjoy the game of Rugby Union, a proud history with a bright future. Thanks for everything last night as it was a brilliant evening!!."

Don't forget coverage of the event will also appear in the Wigan Evening Post Junior Section on Wednesday, 3rd May.
