#movethesign is the start of a crowdfunding campaign to raise monies for OWCSC

Weʼre raising £12,000 to help Orrell RUFC & WPCC to #movethesign on Winstanley Road to make it safer for all before they can build their new club home & pitches.

Orrell RUFC & Winstanley Park have joined forces to build not only their new home & pitches but new and much needed hub & sports facility for the local communities and beyond. #buildthedream #movethesign

So where are we up to? Well, we can access the land in October 2019, prepare the pitches between June and October 2020, ready for playing rugby September 2021 and the start of or mid 2022 season for cricket, with the overall organisation structure in place by the end of 2018!

Great but key to all of this is the fact that we need to make the road and entrance to the facility safer for all as the proposed entrance is within a 60mph zone. So it is imperative that the club raises enough funds (£12000) in order to meet the cost of extending the 30mph zone.

This fundraising will form part of the additionality both clubs need to provide in support of all our grant submissions (to demonstrate that all our members are committed to seeing the project through to a successful completion) and therefore inspire confidence within the grant authorities.

How do we do this? Apart from the strategy meetings; fundraising meetings, branding meetings looking at how we promote and sell ourselves; meetings with our solicitor to secure our possession of the land - which we are very happy to report is now progressing and we should secure possession of the land in October/November 2019?

All done by our fantastic volunteers who give their time and experience to the project.

We have also received fantastic support from local community organisations, who have provided us with Letters of Support. These will be a great boost to our funding bids.

But now we need your help! Can you help us crowdfund and raise money to start the ball(s) rolling and #movethesign and #buildthedream. Any monies you donate via our Just Giving page will go direct to this part of the project.

Together we can achieve and build a legacy for the community
