Warrington v Orrell
Cup match
41-26
It was a bitterly cold morning for an intense cup clash between Orrell U15's away at Warrington.
Warrington were a well drilled side and seized an early lead with two quick tries. Orrell responded with a powerful drive from the forwards, leading to a try by Mason, expertly converted by Joe, bringing the score to 12-7. Warrington countered with another try, before Seb scored from a well-executed ruck, making it 17-12 at halftime.
Early the second half Orrell gained momentum and looked like scoring a well-deserved try after some good build up play by the forwards and backs, unfortunately the ref gave a penalty for a hand to the face in the build up. This then spurred Warrington's dominance as they capitalised on precise cross-field kicking, notching three more tries. Orrell, however, showed resilience, securing two additional tries, courtesy of Cody and man of the match Seb, who displayed his elusive running. Warrington scored once more before the final whistle, ultimately claiming a 41-26 victory in a very competitive game of rugby.
