It’s been a quiet couple of weeks at Orrell RUFC, with many of our Mini & Junior teams enjoying a well-earned rest — but there’s still been some action in Black & Amber.

Both our 1XV and U16s were back on the pitch over the weekend, travelling to Oldham and Chester respectively to round off the Easter fixtures. Great results for both teams too.

Things start to pick up again this week as we prepare for our final match of the season —
Orrell RUFC vs Ashton-under-Lyne RUFC on 25th April. Venue as ever will be Winstanley College with a 3.00pm kick off.

We look forward to welcoming supporters for what promises to be a great way to round off the season. Pre and post-match refreshments will be kindly hosted by Orrell Red Triangle Cricket Club ?

A quick advance note for those attending — there will also be a cricket match taking place at the venue that afternoon. Please be respectful and considerate when entering and exiting the site, as we share the facilities with our fellow sportsmen. It also adds to the great community sporting atmosphere on game day.

This week also sees the return of Mini & Junior training on Wednesday (15th), with sessions back on the grass pitches to bring that matchday feel.

We’re also delighted that our U10s will be showcasing their new training tops, kindly sponsored by TPW Design & Build Ltd of Orrell — a fantastic show of support for our youngest age group.

Our End of Season Celebration is just around the corner, with awards, a raffle, and a fantastic evening planned to bring the club together and celebrate the season. Tickets will be available on our website very soon — keep an eye out for details.

Preparations are also well underway for our Mini & Junior Presentation Evenings, with more details to follow shortly.
