We asked Dave about taking on the role of Chair and how he hopes to take the Club forward to our Centenary year in 2027.

I consider it a great privilege to be asked to chair the ORUFC Executive Committee.
- Dave Robinson

"As a lifelong supporter, player and member of Orrell RUFC. I consider it a great privilege to be asked to chair the ORUFC Executive Committee.

It is a time when the game at grass roots level faces significant challenge to recruit and retain players at all levels, skills and age. Without players there is no club!

The end of the COVID pandemic has seen players, spectators and volunteers reassess their personal commitments. Our role is to convince and show through positive input that the game of Rugby has a future for all who wish to be involved.

I would like to thank Tony for his leadership over many years, not only in the day-to-day execution of the club operations but the long-term vision of driving towards our own facility. I am pleased that Tony is staying on the committee as his experience and insights will be greatly appreciated over the coming years.

Our aim going forward is to bring the fun back to the game and to the social aspects around the club. People have choices, we need to make Orrell RUFC and the game of rugby the preferred choice.

Only through building our present will we develop and provide opportunities for the future.

I aim to get down to training most Wednesdays and will be at home and away games for the open age and will support Juniors on a Sunday whenever possible. So, look out for me and let me know what opportunities we must develop our club playing structure and build towards our 100-year anniversary in 2027"
