DELAY TO THE START OF THE NEW SEASON

DELAY TO THE START OF THE NEW SEASON

Tracy Monckton

The RFU has announced that the start of the competitive community rugby season will now be delayed until the week commencing Monday 21 September.

Season Start Delayed

A quick update for everyone as we get ready for the new season.

The RFU has announced that the start of the competitive community rugby season will now be delayed until the week commencing Monday 21 September.

The reason is the prolonged dry weather, which has left many rugby pitches extremely hard and not suitable for safe full-contact rugby.

What does this mean for us?

Training can continue as planned, provided pitches are safe to use, and we may still play friendly matches where conditions allow.

Our competitive league fixtures will now begin from 21 September onwards.

We know everyone has been looking forward to getting back to competitive rugby, but ultimately this is about making sure our players can return safely and that pitches are ready for the season ahead.

We'll keep you updated with any changes to fixtures and arrangements.

Thanks everyone for your patience — and hopefully we get some much-needed rain soon!
