Orrell RUFC is thrilled to welcome former England international and dual-code rugby star Denny Solomona as our new Head Coach ahead of the new season.

Denny brings a wealth of experience at the highest levels of both rugby union and league. Having represented England on the wing and lit up the Premiership with Sale Sharks, he carved out a reputation as one of the most dynamic and powerful finishers in the game. His career also saw him shine in rugby league, playing for elite teams including the Melbourne Storm Under-20s, London Broncos, and Castleford Tigers, where he set a Super League record for tries in a single season.

Now stepping into a senior coaching role, Denny’s appointment as Head Coach marks a major step in Orrell’s journey of growth and ambition. His influence will be felt across all levels of the club — from game-day strategy and high-performance training, to culture, leadership, and player development.

But that’s not all — Denny will also be lacing up his boots and showing off his skills on the pitch. As a player-coach in spirit, he’ll be bringing his trademark speed, footwork, and finishing ability to Orrell’s matchdays. We can’t wait to see him back in action and inspiring the next generation by leading from the front.

We’re incredibly excited about what this means for the future of Orrell RUFC. As we continue building towards our centenary in 2027, we hope Denny’s arrival will inspire new players to join us, from juniors to seniors, and energise our entire rugby family.
