David and Angela Howarth & daughter Katie are watching themselves in a new film being aired at the Edinburgh Film Festival this weekend ......

Ever wondered what David and Angela do on a Saturday when not pouring tea for our supporters? Well, this weekend they will be at the Edinburgh Film Festival watching a new film by Justin Edgar who is an occasional spectator and supporter of Orrell. He is also a film director/producer and joint M.D. of 104 Films and David and Angela have small parts in his new film – which also stars John Hannah (The Mummy)

His most recent feature film "The Marker" is about to be world-premiered this Sunday at the very prestigious Edinburgh Film Festival. The premiere has a prime time viewing and a showcase venue. The film has secured distribution rights across all formats, and should be in a cinema near Orrell soon.

Justin's link with Orrell came about through his wife, Katie. Those spectators with memories of travelling the length and breadth of Britain to support the Orrell games in the 90's will remember Katie as the little girl following her team (favourite 'Big Bob' Kimmins), and accompanied by her dad, David Howarth.

The Howarth family connection with the film emerges with Katie playing the part of "Attractive Lady behind Bar". Angela and David appear together as invited guests at a college presentation with David then appearing as a criminal underworld associate with a small speaking part.

The film is a convoluted film noire with some dark moments exploring a man's guilt following a manslaughter and his conviction in the past.

The film is notable for giving a cameo appearance to Enoch Kent, now elderly, but a very accomplished Scots/Canadian singer/songwriter/storyteller who was instrumental in the development of the 50's English folk scene when he founded the Singers Club with Ewan MacColl and Peggy Seeger.
