Currently available in the Orrell RUFC Online Auction is an Australia Rugby World Cup shirt signed by the first five Rugby World Cup-winning captains. But this isn’t just any signed shirt — it has a story that makes it truly unique.

In Cardiff, Wales, the Chairman of the Wooden Spoon (the rugby children’s charity), Bob Harris, was hosting a special event where, for the first and only time ever, the first five World Cup-winning captains were all in the same place at the same time.

Charlie Womersley, the generous donor of this shirt, acquired the shirts — including England, New Zealand, Australia, and South Africa — with the help of rugby legend Fran Cotton, and had them signed at the event.

All but two of these extraordinary shirts have already been sold, raising thousands for charities and rugby clubs. One went to Dewi Morris, an Orrell legend, and the second — the one we are auctioning — is now available for one lucky supporter or collector.
