Remembering Bob Gaskell

It is with great sadness that Orrell RUFC shares the news of the passing of Bob Gaskell, who sadly passed away on Friday, 9 October 2026.

Bob was a great clubman and a valued member of the Orrell family, remembered as an indestructible player who embodied the toughness, commitment and determination that rugby demanded.

Players like Bob are a special part of any rugby club's history. Their dedication to the game and their contribution to the Club leave a lasting impression, and Bob will be remembered with great affection by those who had the privilege of playing alongside him and sharing in the camaraderie of Orrell Rugby.

Our thoughts are with Bob's family, friends and all those who knew him at this sad time.

Rest in peace, Bob.
