Remembering Harold Bibby

It is with great sadness that Orrell RUFC shares the news of the passing of Harold Bibby, who died on Tuesday morning, 11 August 2026.

Harold was a much-loved and long-standing member of the Orrell family, with his association with the Club stretching back many decades.

He played for Orrell from the mid-1960s through into the 1970s, before continuing his involvement with the Club as a coach and referee. For many years Harold remained an active and familiar face around the Club, contributing in so many different ways and playing his part in the life of Orrell Rugby.

His connection with the Club spanned generations, and he will be remembered not only for his contribution on the pitch, but for the time, commitment and friendship he gave to Orrell over so many years.

Our thoughts are with Harold’s family, friends and all those who knew him at this sad time.
