Dr John Morgan has been associated with Orrell RUFC for longer than anyone cares to remember (it’s a long time) and over the years, his continued support has been of enormous help to the Club. From providing the physios, to supporting the Exec team with advice and help to sponsoring the kit – Dr John’s support and friendship over the years has been amazing and very much appreciated.

We are delighted therefore to announce his support for the Club continues with the naming of the match ground as The Dr1ve Medicals Arena at St John Rigby College.

Dr1ve is a Lancashire based business which aspires to deliver the very best in healthcare from a fantastic purpose-built clinic in Wigan, easily accessible from anywhere in the North West. Providing choice and convenience for our patients and customers is our aim. The provision of medical services to our local professional drivers is sometimes poor, expensive and inefficient. Dr1ve have a local GP performing HGV and LGV medical examinations for vans, trucks, horse boxes, etc. and PCV medicals for buses, minibuses and coaches as well as Private hire and Hackney Carriage (Taxi) medicals for local authorities. (Please note that some local authorities require a taxi medical from your own GP and it is the driver’s responsibility to check).

The Orrell & Winstanley Community Sports Club Joint Venture
As you know, Orrell RUFC and Winstanley Park CC have joined forces to develop a much-needed Community Sports club. The clubs have signed a 99 year lease for the 13 acre site, situated next to Winstanley College, which will provide a permanent home for both organisations and an opportunity to boost both their thriving junior sections.
The new family orientated facilities will play host to Orrell RUFC, who will finally find a permanent home after leaving their Edgehall Road ground ten years ago. The new buildings will also enable the cricket club to continue to meet the requirements for affiliation to the Southport and District League.
The facility will be available to other community groups, with a particular focus on providing a sporting outlet for children which will help create a more cohesive and sustainable community.
