It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of Maurice Roby, a true stalwart of Orrell RUFC.

Maurice was the very definition of a great club man — dedicating countless hours, energy, and passion to the growth and success of the club, particularly through his tireless work with the Juniors and Colts. His commitment helped shape the future of Orrell RUFC, and the impact of his efforts will be felt for generations to come.

A man of great character, Maurice embodied the very best of what it means to be part of a rugby club community. His generosity of spirit, his friendship, and his unwavering devotion to Orrell made him a much-loved figure both on and off the field. It’s impossible to measure the value of his contributions, but his absence will be deeply felt by all who knew him.
