An unseasonably warm October day as Orrell U15's hosted Birkenhead Park U15's. The first half was dominated by Orrell, who displayed some good rugby from the get-go. However, the game's flow was intermittently disrupted by the referee's scrummage resets, adding an extra layer of challenge to the proceedings.
At half-time, the score stood at 21-0 in favour of Orrell. The tries in the first half came courtesy of Seb, followed by Thomas, and Seb again, showcasing the team's relentless attacking prowess. Joe was on point with his conversions, converting all three tries with precision.
Birkenhead Park, determined not to go down without a fight, came back strong in the second half. Their spirited efforts paid off as they managed to breach Orrell's defence. And a penalty from a high tackle gave them the opportunity to get over the line. Nevertheless, Orrell, sensing the urgency of the situation, picked up their pace and reclaimed control of the match. Strong driving runs from Sam and great work from Thomas helped Orrell to maintain their lead.
In the second half, it was Will B who scored two tries for Orrell. These tries were the result of well-executed teamwork, as the ball skilfully moved through the hands of the players. One of these tries was converted, adding crucial points to Orrell's tally.
As the final whistle blew, the score line read 33-12 in favour of Orrell. Orrell's dominance in the first half and their ability to maintain control in the second half secured them a well-deserved victory on this scorching day of rugby.
