It was heavy underfoot but the pitch just about held up this week for an U15's friendly between Orrell and Southport. The match kicked off with an early try for Orrell as Kian touched down, brilliantly converted by debutant Alex with his cool kicking style, giving Orrell a swift 7-0 lead.

Seb added to Orrell's momentum with an impressive break from the halfway line, extending their lead to 14-0 after Alex's successful conversion. Southport responded with determination, managing to secure a try, though the conversion was missed, leaving the score at 14-5 going into halftime.

The second half witnessed Orrell's continued dominance, and commendable refereeing allowed the game to flow. A well-executed play saw Jack M passing to Harrison, who skillfully offloaded back to Jack for a try, converted once again by Alex.

Orrell's relentless attack persisted as Justin drove over the line in the corner, notching another try and bringing the score to 26-5. Kilian, made a memorable impact with a debut try, again beautifully converted by Alex, extending Orrell's lead to 33-5.

The match concluded with a final flourish as Harrison scored through swift ball movement, with Alex's conversion sealing a resounding victory for Orrell at 40-5. A commendable team effort showcased Orrell's skill and cohesion on the field. Special mention to Kian who was outstanding as scrum half, and the new players who all had a fantastic debut - Jack L, Patrick, Nathan M, and particuarly Alex who was awarded a well deserved Man of the Match. A great way to end 2023!
