Rochdale 10 - Orrell 34
A win is a win as they say, and today’s victory sent us through to our second successive Lancashire cup final and a chance to defend our title.
The game started according to plan with good platform service and fast, crisp back line distribution to send us over for two very early tries.
After that, the game started to become scrappy and the game flow disrupted by successive penalties against us.
However, we continued to push hard in both defence and attack, and this led to some panic ball play and ill discipline, we will all learn from this.
Rochdale tried to keep themselves in the game with some good vision out wide and managed a couple of tries for their efforts.
More hard work with a further 3 tries for Orrell, plus a great drop goal by Zaac and some conversions saw us seal the game, to book our place in the finals v Warrington on 3/5/2026 at Vale of Lune.
The coaches are very proud of the whole squads achievements to date and our enthusiasm. We are looking forward to see a performance that showcases the boys talent and what they’ve learned for the finals.
Well done boys, Lancashire cup finalists.
The coaching team.
