It’s been a long time since Orrell RUFC had a Junior Colts team and we are so proud that our current U16s will transition into Junior Colts for the 2019/20 season. Most of our current U16s team have been together since 2009 under Head Coach Chris Gibson and its down to his leadership, coaching and team building (plus those of his coaching team and managers Jacqui Campbell and Tracey Gibson) that has brought the team so far. They are a great bunch of young men, who have grown so much over the years (and we don’t just mean in size and stature) and are a credit to their families and club.
The team has had a great season, which ended on a great high, of winning the Lancashire Cup Plate Final last weekend vs a very strong Warrington RUFC team.
The team are also very proud to support a growing number of Junior players who have been selected for Lancashire and the Sale Sharks Development Player Programme (DPP) and Academy. This is not only a reflection of the commitment and skill of the players but also of the high level of coaching that we are proud to deliver at ORUFC.
The team’s ethos is based on player development and enjoyment and the coaches & team would welcome development players who are new to the game through to those who are playing representative rugby. So, if you fancy joining not just a hugely successful team but a friendly, happy group of guys, who enjoy playing rugby, then come along to our training sessions or get in touch with Head Coach Chris Gibson via email to email@example.com. We’d love to welcome you into our rugby family!
