Welcome to the home of the Orrell RUFC Senior Colts.

Our Senior Colts are the club’s Under 18 team, providing the next step in the Orrell rugby journey for players moving through the Mini & Junior section and into the Open Age game.

For many of our players, Senior Colts rugby is where the transition towards senior rugby really begins. It is an opportunity to develop skills, build confidence, experience a higher level of competition and, most importantly, continue enjoying the game with their friends and teammates.

A PROUD ORRELL PATHWAY

The Senior Colts are an important part of the pathway at Orrell RUFC.

Many of our players have come through the club’s Mini & Junior section, having started their rugby journey in black and amber at a much younger age. Others join Orrell later in their development, bringing new experiences and friendships to the squad.

Whatever their route into the team, the aim is the same — to create an environment where young players can develop, compete and enjoy their rugby.

DEVELOPING THE NEXT GENERATION

Senior Colts rugby is about preparing players for the challenges of Open Age rugby while allowing them to continue developing in a supportive environment.

Players have the opportunity to develop their technical skills, understanding of the game, fitness, confidence and leadership, while learning what it means to be part of a senior rugby environment.

The ultimate aim is to give our young players the foundations they need to continue their rugby journey beyond Under 18s.

FROM COLTS TO OPEN AGE

The transition from Colts rugby into the Open Age section is an important milestone for any young player.

At Orrell, our Senior Colts are part of the wider club and have the opportunity to train, learn and build relationships with our Open Age players and coaching staff.

For those who want to continue their rugby beyond Under 18s, the pathway is there.

From Senior Colts to the 2XV and 1XV, Orrell RUFC is committed to providing opportunities for players to progress through the club.

A TEAM, A CLUB, A FAMILY

While development and competition are important, rugby is also about friendship.

Many of our players have grown up playing together, creating friendships and memories that extend well beyond the rugby pitch.

The Senior Colts are a team, but they are also part of the wider Orrell family.

There will be hard-fought matches, plenty of training, the occasional tough session and, of course, plenty of laughs along the way.

LOOKING TOWARDS 2027

As Orrell RUFC builds towards its Centenary in 2027, the Senior Colts have a particularly important role to play.

These are the players who will help shape the next generation of the club.

The players pulling on the black and amber today are not simply representing Orrell's history — they are helping to create its future.
