Wigan u13s 15 - 25 Orrell u13s
After losing the first 2 rounds to date, Orrell u13s were a little cautious of meeting their close rivals Wigan at their own ground, on a sunny rememberance Sunday.
After observing a minutes silence both teams took to the field for the 3rd round of the Lancashire Festival, Orrell lost a key forward when Kian had to be taken off the pitch with a knee injury, Orrell struggled to make head way with Wigan dominating the rucks and stealing numerous ball, Wigan had gained 2 tries before Orrell crossed the try line after a strong back line attack finished off by the powerful Mason. Half time 10 - 5 to Wigan.
Second half saw a stronger performance from the Orrell players with better tackling and handling throughout, Wigan gained a further try before the Orrell contingent gained some self believe and commitment, four wonderful tries were scored by the Orrell back line with 2 tries from speedster Harrison and menacing power play of Mason who walked off with a hat trick.
Huge congratulations to the Orrell squad for the believe in themselves and a positive attitude towards each other.
