2. Community Rugby: Mini and Junior Coaches


Join our Mini and Junior Section as a Community Rugby Coach

Orrell RUFC MIni and Junior Section has teams ranging from U6/U7 through to U15/U16. Our coaches are all volunteers. Experience and coaching qualifications are desirable but not essential. We are happy to provide suitable training and coaching qualifications if required; the main aim of the role is to provide a safe and happy environment for our Mini and Junior players to enjoy rugby.

The role:

To assist in the provision of rugby coaching for their respective age group in accordance with the regulations set out by the RFU.

  • Under the direction of the Director of Rugby/Head Coach organise and run coaching sessions.
  • Referee practice games and inter-club fixtures.
  • Adhere to and ensure others follow the Club Codes of Practice and Conduct.
  • Attend a suitable RFU coaching course and work toward a suitable RFU Coaching Certificate where possible.
  • Ensure all accidents are reported in accordance with the RFU policies.

Training is held every Wednesday at the Dr1ve Medicals Arena at St John Rigby College, Orrell between 6.00pm and 7.00pm (3G pitch; gym and Sports Hall depending on the weather and type of training required).

Matches are played on a Sunday morning both home and away.
