Some documents are produced by the RFU (our governing body), while others are created by the club to help our players, families and volunteers.

You don’t need to read everything — but it’s here whenever you need it.

Safeguarding Policies & Guidance

Orrell RUFC Safeguarding Policy
Our club’s safeguarding policy explains how we keep players safe, the standards we expect, and how concerns are managed within the club.

RFU Safeguarding Policy
The national safeguarding policy from the Rugby Football Union. This sets the rules and standards that all rugby clubs must follow.

RFU Code of Conduct
Guidance on behaviour and expectations for players, parents, coaches and volunteers to help keep rugby respectful and enjoyable for everyone.

A player-friendly guide explaining rights, safety, and who to talk to if something doesn’t feel right.

Know Your Rights Poster (U18s)
A simple visual reminder for young players about their rights, respect and support.

Guidance for Coaches & Volunteers

Orrell RUFC Safeguarding Handbook
Detailed guidance mainly for coaches and volunteers, but parents are welcome to read it too. It explains safeguarding responsibilities and good practice in more depth.

Forms

Volunteer Application Form
Used when joining the club as a volunteer to help us recruit safely and appropriately.

Safeguarding Referral Form (Incident or Concern)
Used to report a concern, incident or welfare issue so it can be reviewed and supported appropriately.

If you’re unsure whether something should be reported — please speak to a Safeguarding Lead. We would always rather know than not know.
